GFWC Celebrates the International Day of Peace, September 21

GFWC'S CALL TO ACTION

» EDUCATE YOURSELF

• Read the UN's Declaration on the Right to Peace
• Learn about activities from last year's Peace Day
• Find out what people across the globe said they would do for peace

» INFORM OTHERS

• Organize a viewing of UN's Peace Day commemoration at 10:00 a.m. EST on September 21
• Have your club members sign the Peace Day Pledge and discuss how to incorporate its principles into your projects
• Print peace postcards and distribute them to clubwomen and community members

» CREATE CHANGE

• Organize a moment of silence in your community to commemorate the International Day of Peace
• Ask your government officials to issue a proclamation for the International Day of Peace
• Participate in a peace-building project that is inter-generational and inter-cultural
• Join peace proponents around the world on Sunday, September 23, to fly Giant Peace Doves and promote peace
• Download GFWC's peace pledge and submit it to the UN and GFWC to join the list of other organizations who have taken the pledge
