GFWC - Celebrate National Poetry Month in April

Celebrate National Poetry Month in April

April 4, 2008

National Poetry Month was established by the Academy of American Poets as a month-long, national celebration of poetry. It is intended to increase the visibility, presence, and accessibility of poetry in our culture. Since 1996, the Academy has enlisted a variety of government agencies and officials, educational leaders, publishers, sponsors, poets, and arts organizations to help highlight poetry.

You can help bring poetry into the lives of those in your community! Start by purchasing a copy of the GFWC Anthology of short stories and poems from the 2007 contest year.
