This October the GFWC Woman’s League of the Lowcountry celebrated survivors of breast cancer and gave hope to those undergoing treatment. For the eighth year in a row, the club has collected snacks, lotions, makeup, scarves, blankets, and journals to gift to women in their area of South Carolina who are currently fighting breast cancer. At a send-off event for their donations club member Sharon Quinter shared her experience with breast cancer and how the gifts from club members gave her hope during a hard time.
In a touching ceremony, Quinter called up members who are breast cancer survivors to congratulate them on their remission and recognize the trials they went through. After the event, bags were taken to a Bluffton, SC, oncology office, ready to share comfort and hope, wrapped in a pink bag.
